Homeless children – the presentation of a part of the result of the research conducted in Podkarpacie Region (Poland)
Abstract
The present paper aims to present the most significant issues connected to child and youth homelessness in Poland which could be observed after conducting research in this group within the scope of the project A study relating to children rough sleepers who are runaways & homeless and victims of sexual exploitation/abuse & other violence on the streets and development of knowledge transfer activities that improve services and policies to support & protect these vulnerable children (a short title of the project: Children Rough Sleepers), realised by the Association “Center of Education and Enterprise Support” in Rzeszów in cooperation with the partners from nine European countries under the guidance of the University of Wolverhampton (Great Britain) within the framework of the Daphne III programme (project financed by European Commission). The first part of the report presents the results of the official nationwide research conducted in Poland to record the number of homeless people, including children, and the second part depicts the results of in-depth interviews with children experiencing homelessness.
